On January 22, members of your board met to discuss a number of issues important to the congregation.
Primarily, the board adopted an investment policy statement for the funds generated by the Camp Hurlburt sale. With the hard work of your trustees, that policy will be enacted and the sale funds invested for the betterment of our mission, vision and values.
Considerable time was also spent discussing chapter one of Fishing Tips by John Pentland, minister at Hillhurst United in Calgary. The board is reading this book as a way of challenging our views on leadership while embracing our mission, vision and values.
As always, we are members of your board and if you have any questions or comments, please contact us.
Now on another note, all of us at Trinity have known for many years how dynamic Marie Morris is. She willingly gives of her time here at the church and in the community.
What we have always known has now been officially recognized by the community as Marie has been named Vernon’s Good Citizen of the Year.
Not only am I proud of Marie but of our congregation family as so many of you gathered for the special announcement and managed to keep it a secret from Marie.
On behalf of the board and congregation of Trinity United Church, please join me in congratulating Marie Morris.
